DiscoverOrg is an award winning web-based sales and marketing intelligence tool supporting those targeting IT prospects. DiscoverOrg has a number of valuable features and reviewer Jan Knight highlights two of the best.
Users of DiscoverOrg are able to achieve shorter sales cycles and increased revenue by being able to contact their prospect companies, and specifically the right person, at the right time with the right message.
The "right person", most likely a decision-maker, is achieved by accessing the contact database that is continually updated by an in-house research team of over 80 analysts.
These analysts check in every 90 days with their contacts in the IT and finance departments of the companies they cover; the database is then populated with content pulled directly from those discussions.
Verification and currency of data is a differentiator the company provides itself on and guarantees its customers.
The "right time" to contact a prospect differs by user and context. The software allows the setting of customised triggers/events that the user believes might indicate buying opportunities or, at least, highlight that the target organisation is considering new or additional IT services or products.
Triggers might include personnel changes, mergers and acquisition activity in the company overall, announcement of product development or a move to a new location etc.
DiscoverOrg sees itself as a one-stop-shop when it comes to helping sales and marketing departments access quality and current data about a prospect company and the individual decision-makers within those companies.
Covering over 16,000 companies, including private and public entities as well as government and higher education institutes, the product also includes information on over 300,000 individuals.
DiscoverOrg helps over 1,050 customers to "identify new IT projects and undiscovered opportunities before the competition does".
FreePint was impressed not only with the quality of content, the ability to access direct phone numbers and email addresses of contacts but with the intuitive interface of the product and the multiple ways that searches can be conducted and prospect lists can be built.
The amount of data displayed in easy-to-read, cleanly-formatted results pages is impressive.
DiscoverOrg also integrates with a number of top CRM and marketing automation vendors including Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua, SugarCRM and Microsoft Dynamics and this enables customers to keep data in those systems fully current.
