Abstract

Find out more about Jinfo's events programme and what you can expect from attending one of our webinars vs one of our Community sessions.

If you have been a Jinfo Newsletter or Content Subscriber for any amount of time, I'm sure you have heard us talk about or, may have been invited to attend, a Jinfo Community session. One of the most frequent questions I have been asked by customers since becoming as Head of Community for Jinfo is:

"How is a Community session different to a webinar?"

Jinfo webinars are:

  • Mainly presentation, with some opportunity for Q&A through the session platform
  • Recorded for later viewing by customers not able to attend the live session
  • Included in the cost of a Jinfo Content Subscription (starting at £800 per year for two users).

Jinfo Community sessions are:

  • Highly interactive, with active discussion amongst the participants
  • Facilitated to ensure participants leave with practical, real-world examples, exercises and tools to apply the ideas in their own environments
  • NOT recorded, to ensure the confidentiality of participants
  • Offered as a standalone service (starting at £1,200 per year), or added to a Jinfo Content Subscription.

Both our webinars and Community sessions build on Jinfo's original research and feature expert commentary from the Jinfo team and other industry analysts. Both usually run 60 minutes and can be accessed from a computer, smartphone or tablet.

Why attend our events?

The unique value of our events is best expressed by our clients.

Some of the recent comments we have received in response to webinars include:

  • "I was very impressed with the quality of the Jinfo webinar. I attend a lot of professional webinars and this was one of the best. It was well prepared and presented. The content was valuable and the follow-up materials useful." (Librarian, utilities firm)

  • "Thanks for an interesting hour - felt like I was able to step back and think about my profession, vs. only the next task/project. I needed that!" (eResources specialist, manufacturing firm)

Some of the recent comments we have received in response to Community sessions include:

  •  "The Community session was excellent... it gave me a lot of food for thought and I want to work through a couple of the exercises before the ideas leave my head. I thought that hearing other people's experiences and ideas was especially useful." (Senior manager, professional services firm)

  • "I found the Community session one of the most valuable I have attended. It's helpful to talk to so many people who worry about the sorts of things that I do, like how to get the best value for the organisations we work for. You get that breadth of experience and elicit those shared agendas. There are some things that we all struggle with, and hearing what other people have tried that works or doesn't work always saves me a lot of time and energy. It's always an inspiration to hear what you've learned in your research, and also from my colleagues in similar organisations." (Director, scientific knowledge services, manufacturing firm)
