Abstract

What can you legally redistribute, and what does copyright law say about new technology and user-generated content? Does it make a difference whether I share content with my colleagues on the intranet, or make it public on the website? This article describes some of the copyright issues that can arise when organisations produce, share, copy and link to content from a variety of sources. Clare Painter outlines what you need to consider when selecting content and redistributing both internally with your colleagues, and externally with clients and on your website.
