UK marketers adopt to Search Engine Marketing Today, April 21, 2008, the UK Search Engine Marketing Report for 2008 has been published (http://www.neutralize.com/media-centre/research-reports.htm). Its core finding is that 63% of UK companies intend to increase their investments in paid search and 61% in search engine optimization. Other findings are (as cited at http://www.neutralize.com/media-centre/research-reports.htm) - One in ten companies surveyed is spending more than 1 million annually on paid search. - Since 2007, the proportion of companies conducting paid search (PPC) and search engine optimization (SEO) exclusively in-house have declined. Correspondingly, the proportion of respondents outsourcing to an agency for both disciplines has gone up. - The proportion of agencies offering landing page optimization has increased from 71% to 76%, making this the second most commonly offered service. - Google is also strides ahead of its competitors for quality of traffic. Again, 89% of company respondents rate Google as the best for quality traffic. On 55 pages, the report analyzes its findings broken down by sectors and industries. Having been conducted now for the second time, approximately 1,000 respondents participated in an online survey in February and March 2008.
